Building A Wedding Registry Together

Updated: Mar 18, 2023

Out of all the wedding planning my husband and I put our hearts into, when it came to building our wedding registry, it was much more of a challenge than we had thought. This is when we discovered we have dynamically different opinions when it comes to style and needs. Even though we butt heads multiple times over our registry, let me tell you, we learned how to collaborate and be agreeable to one another. I decided to write about this topic to give you some ideas of my must-haves. Now, these items could also be the spark to a wonderful gift for someone or a way to spice up your space!

I highly recommend going to Crate & Barrel or others stores where you can touch and see the actual items. Also, since I am a bargain shopper - you can find a lot of these items at your local thrift shop or Facebook Marketplace! When you are putting together your registry, be thinking of what you would like to have new :)

Final note, your registry is a WORK IN PROGRESS! You do not need to complete it over a matter of weeks or even months. Since everything is online, you can easily edit your choices and add new ones!

THE KITCHEN

We LOVE ours, it gets every cranny out of our pans and doesn't scratch the bottom! It has high heat resistance, so no worries about it melting. Also has built-in measurements!

These can get pricey, but I guarantee they are worth every penny. They are the best reusable storage bags out there, they are leak-proof, dishwasher safe, and have held up like champs. We have the Aqua-colored set :)

My husband swore this grater is what the professionals use - we love it. We use it for parmesan cheese, limes, & lemons!

Mercer has affordable, yet excellent knives. We added a few of their knives to our block - the chef's knife, tomato knife, and the renaissance knife.

I simply found some on Amazon, they are $17, I love how they collapse and stack for space-saving, plus they are dishwasher safe, and non-toxic. So far so good!

I have used an Insta Pot, but let me tell you - a Crock-Pot is better in my perspective. The quality of taste and texture does not compare!

Truly is a non-stick pan and versatile with cooking needs! Stylish enough to leave out on your stovetop even when not in use!

Stainless Steel Cookware

This was a difficult choice because there are tons of options out there and they all seem the best! We decided on Cuisinart and this piece set since it met our needs, since then they have been pretty solid. They do have persistent spotting but are manageable with the right products.

Plates & Bowls - Crate & Barrel

We are happy with our decision of the Range collection at C&B, they are timeless and pretty durable. I have already broken a few of our pieces... but have easily replaced them. They are getting some scratches on them from our cutlery, but it is an easy fix with the right cleaners.

Both metal, glass, and melamine bowls *with lids, are wonderful to have in the kitchen!

The big thing about finding the right caddy is that it distinctly says "Rust-Proof"! We chose this bronze over the showerhead caddy from Amazon, we really do love it!

BEDROOM

For $70, these sheets are a steal! They have been holding up very well and look beautiful.

We are not impressed with the one we purchased, it has pilled, but is manageable with a fabric shaver. I would have invested in a Belgian Flax Linen Duvet from Pottery Barn if we knew better. You can even search on PoshMark for them or just be patient until a sale arises. They are spendy, but worth the investment.

Derek and I decided to purchase a cheaper mattress from Costco, Simple Modern Queen, then add a mattress topper to make it luxurious. It totally has been working for us! Looking at how in-depth and expensive mattresses get is overwhelming, but we for sure found the sweet spot where to put our money.
